Eugenia C. Foxworth, Owner/ Broker—Foxworth Realty, NYC

NYC REALTOR EUGENIA FOXWORTH, RECENT PAST PRESIDENT (2021-2022) OF THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF REAL ESTATE (FIABCI –USA)

Established realtor Eugenia Foxworth earned many achievements over the years through her work. As the head of the New York City based Foxworth Realty, she successfully helped homeowners save their brownstone properties from foreclosure within the Harlem area where her office is located – this during at time years ago when the USA economy was in dire straits, thus affecting the housing market.  Ms. Foxworth was honored as a “Woman of Excellence” by the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce and last year Real Estate Agent Advisor highlighted her as “One of the Phenomenal Women in Real Estate”.

Ms. Foxworth was recently awarded the Medal of Honor from the World President of FIABCI for her work and her vision “to create awareness of the organization within the USA by doing outreach to communities that would benefit from what she and the federation can offer in the areas of affordable housing as well as offering scholarships to small colleges and universities.” FIABCI’s Medal of Honor is the most prestigious award granted by the organization.

One of the sponsors of REAL ESTATE IN ACTION, a parallel event to the United Nations high-level political forum on sustainable development. She will participate in the summit in the official capacity of NGO (non-government organization) delegate for the United Nations, another first such appointment by FIABCI of an African-American.

“I haven’t followed a traditional path,” Eugenia cautions – a notable understatement – but energy and intentionality have fueled her personal journey.

Eugenia grew up Catholic in England as the only child of a divorced white British father and Black American mother. In England, she attended religious schools until she was thirteen, at which point she joined her mother in Philadelphia and proceeded to graduate from Drexel University.

In the 1960’s, Eugenia was working as a receptionist at the Philadelphia Naval Yard, as she pursued the dream of becoming an airline stewardess. Though at the time she was only twenty and not yet eligible, newspaper stories covering her quest to become a then-rare Black stewardess captured the attention of Civil Rights luminary Bayard Rustin, who became a cherished mentor.

Since her flying days, Eugenia has built a fascinating record of accomplishments as diverse as owning a New York City art gallery featuring established and emerging artists; managing an all-women artists gallery in Soho (SOH020); launching a skin care line; all in addition to developing real estate ventures in which she serves as owner, broker, and industry advocate.

Ms. Foxworth serves on several boards related to the real estate industry and has earned many accolades through the years. In 2019 she was recognized as a “Woman of Courage” by the Harlem Community News and Health First. Ms. Foxworth also received a citation from the New York State Assembly District 70th Assembly Member Inez E. Dickens and a certificate of appreciation from Gale A. Brewer, the Manhattan Borough president, in recognition for her dedication and service to the Harlem community.
